Evolution’s Entrepreneurs: A Landmark Year for Lewellyn Technology

As 2016 ends, the team at Evolution wants to share the success of Lewellyn Technology, a 2016 Inc. 5000 honoree, and a tremendous partner on our list of current active growth companies.

Since opening its doors in 1993, Lewellyn has grown from a promising startup, to a regional and national powerhouse, drawing on its robust expertise in electrical and combustible dust safety assessments and training for EHS managers as well as maintenance personnel across North America.  Lewellyn’s mission is to prevent workplace accidents.

After partnering with Evolution in 2012, the organization has been strategically expanding its online and offline presence in a thriving, niche industry. And plans for Lewellyn Technology’s future are pointing to even further development, with $1.5 million being allocated for growing its Indiana headquarters, which will ultimately create 30 new positions at the company over the next 5 years.

“We’re looking to have more training areas where we can train our employees when we hire them as well as hold (electrical safety training) classes there,” said Lewellyn Technology CFO, Roger Black, to a local reporter from Current Zionsville, where the main office is presently situated.

Working in the pro-business environment of Indiana, Lewellyn’s contribution has received the attention of such dignitaries as Indiana Governor and Vice President-elect of the United States, Mike Pence. Prior to the election, Governor Pence wrote about the impact Lewellyn Technology was having on the state of Indiana, which was further detailed in an article from Clinton County Daily News.

Lewellyn Technology’s success reinforces the integral role financials play in small businesses, not only emphasizing the first pillar in The Five Pillars of Business Freedom, but also how such growth strategies can align with local tax credits and incentives to improve a company’s progression well past the second stage.

With conditional tax credits totaling up to $275,000, and $50,000 in training grants being awarded based on the business’ plans, even the mayor of Zionsville is excited to see what the future holds for Lewellyn, the city, and its residents.

“The town of Zionsville is proud Lewellyn Technology chose to expand their current footprint and grow their talented workforce here in Zionsville,” declared Mayor Tim Haak. “We recognize their commitment to Zionsville and continue to be energized by the growth here.”

Evolution Capital Partners is proud to have partnered with such a remarkable and intelligently ran organization. As 2017 approaches, we look forward to supporting Lewellyn as they build on their achievements in the past year, and prepare to create even bigger opportunities in the years ahead.
